Overview:
Responsibilities:

Performs work related to the preparation of bills for water and sewer services. Collects and accounts for the payment of bills. Establishes new customer accounts.  Maintains a variety of financial records in connection with the billing and collection job duties, including the delinquent account report, meter deposits and refund ledger, and new connections. Qualifications:

High school graduate or equivalent with some course work in data processing, office equipment operations. A minimum of two (2) years of related customer service and office experience is required.

Required Skills:

Must possess a valid Virginia driver’s license. Must have the ability to communicate both verbally and written, read in English to understand instructions and handle customers and visitor’s requests. Must understand basic mathematics and basic spelling, and have the ability to type accurately and at a reasonable rate of speed. Must have the ability to perform several tasks at the same time, be able to work independently with minimum supervision, and exhibit a positive attitude to effectively deal with the public, agency officials, and co-workers. Be proficient in the use of current computer software, be able to efficiently utilize Microsoft Word and Excel and database applications.
