The Asset Management Intern will work alongside our Engineering Department and Treatment Operations Department to collect, organize, and update data for wastewater and water treatment assets. This opportunity will be focused on creating an asset inventory for water and wastewater treatment equipment to support the development of a more robust asset management program and master plan for replacing aging plant infrastructure. This intern will work both in the field and in the office, primarily focusing on data acquisition, entry, and analysis. They will also have the opportunity to present on internship outcomes, lessons learned, and recommendations for Augusta Water’s asset management program upon completion of the program. They will work full time (40 hours per week) during the summer months.

The Asset Management Intern provides technical and administrative support to the Engineering and Treatment Operations Departments. This position assists with the collection, organization, and entry of asset data into the asset management system, supports record-keeping efforts, and participates in fieldwork to gain hands-on experience with water and wastewater infrastructure.
High school graduate. Currently enrolled in a Trade School, College, and/or University with a preferred major of study in engineering, civil engineering, mechanical engineering, environmental sciences, environmental management, geography (GIS), asset management, or related field
• Basic understanding of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to follow instructions and work both independently and as part of a team
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
